The ladybug is one of the jeweler's oldest subjects: a talisman that has been passed from collection to collection since the 1920s, reinterpreted each time. Here it is assembled in the spirit of art deco - not a cute little beetle, but a piece of jewelry with dense architecture.
The wing saddles are cast in deep blue enamel with a night sky effect: the thin layer holds the color like stained glass and catches the light from within. A band of hand-set Swarovski crystals runs along the middle seam and along the contour of each wing — it divides the body in half and establishes strict symmetry. The dots are marked with round stones in a delicate gilded frame: green, amethyst, champagne shades — instead of the usual black dots. The head and legs are solid pave: a layer of tiny crystals, textured and almost granular in close-up.
Base-copper with 24K gold plating: the purest in color, a deep yellow layer, close to antique gold. It maintains the warm tone of the metal and contrasts with the cold depth of the enamel.
